A Path to Follow

Grandpa Birthday

Daddy and Elijah are wearing matching outfits because of the announcement of the Anchorman sequel. Yes, the shirts have a quote from Anchorman.

Happy Birthday Grandpa! May I play with all your bags?? You know, eat them and crush them...basically just destroy them.

Elijah is sitting on the couch arm with Grandpa (my dad). We had to change his outfit because his diaper overloaded a little, but it's okay because I love those brown shorts! Since we were celebrating my dad's birthday today, I needed to put up a picture of the two of them together.

He's Going Places

"Crawling" all the way from the bedroom to the living room. He really wanted to go into his room, but I got him to follow me (and his toy duck) down the hall. Then he found the stairs...and tried to go down them about 10 times before I was able to coax him to the living room.

Bottles and Tubes

This is everything we've tried for Elijah's eczema. The prescription works, but we can't use it for more than 10 days. Plus, it can't be good to use a steroid cream on a baby's face. I knew it would take forever to get an appointment at the dermatologist when it took them 2 weeks just to call me to schedule it. I just can't believe they're scheduling 4 months out - our appointment is at the end of July. What are we supposed to do with his skin until then?

Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Typical Wednesday

This is the only picture I took today. Wednesdays are crazy for us. AWANA just wore the kid out.

We did spend lots of $$ on lotions and creams for his eczema today. Hopefully something will work because we couldn't get him in to see a dermatologist until the end of July.

Goofball

I have no idea... He just kept making this face. I need to pay more attention to what Erik is teaching him.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” ~Matthew 19:14

Washing Dishes

I did dishes. Elijah helped.

Haha - ok, Erik put him in there.

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them. ~John 13:14-17

7 Month Pictures

Roni took us to Perkins Park for Elijah's 7 month pictures. He's all decked out in his Easter suit and playing with some eggs and a dump truck. Roni's all over...trying to get a great shot. Erik's squeaking Sophie to help get our little boy to smile. During most of the shoot, I'm making sure Elijah won't fall over (except when I took a few pictures...).

The pictures look great...some are already posted on Facebook.

Beautiful Day = Time to Play

What a nice day outside! After some shopping, we went to the park by our house. It didn't have swings...bummer...so we played on some bouncy things and the slide. Look at the guys' faces. I  don't know what they saw.

He has made everything beautiful in its time... ~Ecclesiastes 3:11

E I E I O

Elijah hasn't been enjoying his time in the "farm" lately, but he was in there for a while today. Now-a-days, he likes to wiggle while you hold him, inch around on the ground and act like he wants you to hold him, then try to steal your laptop or phone. We're not surprised that his favorite toys aren't his toys.

Spring Shorts

Ok...ok...I just had to post 2 pictures today. The first one is to show off that gummy smile (yes, he eats our phones) and the second is so you can see those cute blue shorts (yes, they make his eyes shine).

On a sad note, last night we had to let Elijah cry for a while. A long while. He's been eating every 1-2 hours and we've got to break that habit....hence us making our baby a cry baby. Hopefully, we aren't scarring him for life.

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. ~Proverbs 22:6

Banana Phone

Laptops are one of Elijah's favorite toys...especially when we're watching Banana Phone! He's trying to get into the computer here. Actually, he managed to hit the pause button. Thanks! Part of the lyrics go "this song drives me... bananas."

Flash Flash

Elijah didn't get a long enough nap this afternoon so he was being cranky. Good thing Grandma came over to help him give us some smiles. We both got lots of pictures...only a few good ones though. I know I didn't get any great pictures today. This one is pretty cute - check out those JEEP socks!

Baby Giggles

I love his giggles! This was Elijah laughing because Daddy kept rolling him around on the couch. It's good to have a husband who plays well with his son.

JBF Deals

I went to the KCI Expo Center for Just Between Friends and bought Elijah summer clothes, a few things for winter, a pair of shoes ($3 for Thomas the Train!) and a little book that I think he already enjoys. Today was the 50% off day - so everything was very cheap. I look forward to going again in August for good winter deals. Any moms want to come with me next time?

Birthday and Patty's Day

We celebrated Eliese's 1st birthday. She shared her new tea set with Elijah. We remembered to wear green - no pinches. Yay for friends and parties and cupcakes!

Do to others as you would have them do to you. ~Luke 6:31

Weight, Eczema & a Shot

We had a follow up visit at the doctor's office today to check on Elijah's weight gain. He was around the 10th percentile at his 6 month check up. Now he's 7 months and his weight is back on track so we don't have to supplement my milk with formula. The doctor said I'm a "great mommy" because I keep nursing him. (Yay to me!)

His eczema hasn't been much better unless we're using his prescription...so we've been referred to a dermatologist! I'm looking forward to meeting with someone who can help us control this better. Poor baby has been so red and itchy.

Elijah also had his 2nd flu shot. He cried for just a second and then he was back to his smiling self. (see picture above)

Beware the Madness of March

Elijah already knows how to dribble...can't wait until he can dunk!

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. ~1 Corinthians 9:25

Happy Pi Day!

Pi and Pie! What a great day :)

The hardest part was keeping his hands out of the pie. Zoom in on the calculator and you might recognize the number.

Outside Curiosity

Elijah's checking out God's creation: mud, grass, dead leaves, sticks....oh what fun a little boy can have!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. ~Genesis 1:1
