Climbing Trouble

Elijah loves playing around on this slide even though he is too big for it. Usually, he ends up hopping down from the top. Today he pretended that it was part of his front end loader that he was driving. "Pick up some dirt. Oooom. Mmmmm. Beep! Beep!"

This little girl is being dangerous with all her climbing. I went to the kitchen to get cookies out of the oven and I hear Elijah in the living room say, "Eva's on the couch on Daddy's computer." She used her table to get on the couch. So, I moved the table. Then she used the slide to get up on the couch. So, I moved the slide. While I was moving the slide, Eva climbed on top of her table and sat on it (about to fall off the back). So, I took the legs off the table.

Later, Eva moved the slide by the gate. Ut oh! Wish our basement was child ready...

Box Lunch Box Restaurant

I ordered some clothes for my birthday which means we have another box in the house. The kids immediately started trying to open the box and climbing all over it.

Elijah loves playing with cars...or trains...or anything with wheels. He put his ramps on the box and had the cars driving in, out, and all around the box.

Oatmeal for lunch. I gave Eva two spoons and let her feed herself. I put oatmeal on the spoons then set them on her tray. She did a great job at getting the spoon to her mouth.

Elijah's lunch was chili dogs with mac and cheese. He ate it all. We're sort of healthy - he had an apple for morning snack.

They ended up in the box together. Eva kept trying to take Elijah's toys. He doesn't like that.

The kids play restaurant at day care every day. It's one of their favorite games. The other game they play is 'baby' which is Sommer being the mom, Elijah being the dad, and Guillermo being the baby. At home today Elijah wants to play restaurant...

Elijah: *sticks his head out the box window* What do you want?
Me: Uhh, to eat?
Elijah: Yes.
Me: I'll have a cheeseburger, fries, and Pepsi.
Elijah: Uhh, we're all out.
Me: You're out of everything?
Elijah: Yes.
Me: Ok, I'm going somewhere else.
Elijah: Ok, bye!
Me: ???
Elijah: Oh, we have Pepsi.
Me: Ok, I'll take a Pepsi.
Elijah: *hands me a pretend Pepsi*
Me: How much is it?
Elijah: What?
Me: Do I have to pay for it?
Elijah: It costs money.
Me: How much money?
Elijah: $4
Me: *hands Elijah pretend money*
Elijah: And here's a cheeseburger. It costs money. It's $5.
Me: *hands Elijah pretend money*
Elijah: What do you want?
Me: Umm, I'm full.
Elijah: *pleads with his eyes for me to make another order*
Me: I guess I'll have a milkshake.
Elijah: Here you go. *hands me pretend milkshake*
Me: How much is it?
Elijah: $50
Me: What? Buddy, I can't afford a milkshake. *tries to give Elijah pretend milkshake back*
Elijah: ??
Me: Can it be lower?
Elijah: Um, $4
Me: Thank you.
Elijah: You want something else or are you full?
Me: I'm full.

However, I also ended up getting chicken nuggets with dip and more chicken nuggets. Eva had mac and cheese and spaghetti because they were out of bananas.

Box & More Climbing

Our first shipment with new items on Amazon subscribe and save came in the mail yesterday. That means we are now the proud owners of a giant box. I had Elijah color all over it with markers. This morning I drew racing lanes for his cars.

He didn't want to write his name, but we did get him to write the letter 'E'.

It's hard to share box time. They like to put a blanket over the top and make the box a house. I can fit in the box with Elijah...it's that big!

Ut oh! She's moved the slide to the couch again.

She's finally up! Look at how excited she is.

But she didn't stop there. I took a quick picture of her continuing up the couch before she flipped over the back side.

Up and Dancing

Guess who climbed into a rocking chair all by herself.

Elijah put out 2 blankets on the floor. He told Eva it wasn't a bed. It was a dancing spot!

Daddy's Gone

I can get the kids ready for bed by myself. That's right...Erik left me tonight. He went to the Royals game - post season! Our family wore Royals shirts today, and we hope Daddy has a good time at the game with Uncle Chad.

Elijah loves reading his little books that he made at day care because they have his name on the front and he colored each page. He has one for orange and one for green.

Climbing, Blueberries, & Hug

Eva climbed onto her table...and she keeps trying to do it again. She also climbed onto my foot stool in her room that came with my rocking chair. And she's almost figured out how to move the slide over to the couch and climb up there. We did teach her 'down' and she usually obeys that command.

Yummy! Messy blueberries for lunch. Naked with a diaper and bib for this adventure.

I barely missed this little hug. Obviously, it wasn't planned. How we would love to have the siblings always get along...haha
